On Wednesday, we celebrated the end to an amazing year of chess at SJB by inviting some of our best players to take part in ChessFest which was held in a beautiful garden in central London. Not only did SJB finish second in the Hackney league out of 12 schools played out over the last year, but today the children attending racked up another 3 medals playing against chess Grand Masters, and then another 8 medals in the subsequent tournament, including 3 silvers. It’s been a truly memorable year and we’re very proud of everyone who has taken part. We can’t wait for next year!
