Digital Leaders

Digital Leaders

Home > Children  > Pupil Voice > Digital Leaders

Our digital leaders are a fantastic asset to the school community. A Digital Leader is a pupil who is part of a Digital Leaders Team within a school. Their role is to support the use and further the development of ICT in schools. With technology advancing at such a fast rate, it is hard to keep up with change. However, schools can make use of digital leaders as a suitable resource for maintaining standards and making progress in ICT.

We have a group of 12 digital leaders, two children from each class for year 1 through to 6. All the digital leaders were chosen by their class peers through a class election. They had to prepare a short presentation explaining why they would be an amazing SJB Digital Leader. We had lots of enthusiastic applicants and it was really difficult to choose.

We meet every half term. The digital leaders are always taught a new topic first. This enables them to have the ability to support their peers during Computing lessons.

These are some of the topics we have covered this year:

  • Scratch programming
  • Garage Band
  • Setting up a laptop
  • How to maintain the iPads
  • Looking after IT equipment, Trolleys, iPads
  • Raising E-safety awareness

Our digital leaders have become more confident and skilled in their use and their application of computing skills which in turn has given them an enormous amount of confidence and their ability to help others.

We have rewarded them with a digital leader’s badge so that they can be easily spotted. We are very proud of our SJB Digital Leaders!
