Headteacher’s Welcome

Headteacher’s Welcome

Home > About Us  > About St John The Baptist > Headteacher’s Welcome

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the St John the Baptist C of E Primary School website. As you browse our website, my hope is you learn about our approach to education and become acquainted with what makes our school such a special place.

Our school has a warm and friendly atmosphere with a strong family feel. Our Christian ethos is at the heart of our aims as we promote care, understanding and respect for those within and beyond our school community.

Five core beliefs underpin all that we do at St John the Baptist. We welcome, celebrate and care for each other to make our school a safe and happy place (Celebration); we co-operate, help and listen to each other so we can learn from each other and settle disputes peacefully (Cooperation); we work hard and try our best so we can be proud of ourselves and our work (Determination); we are honest and tell the truth so we can trust each other (Honesty); we look after the school and our belongings so we have a pleasant place to work (Respect).  Our Beliefs enable us to work together to share a common purpose. We see them as a positive way to learn how to become the best we can be.

We have a highly committed, friendly team of staff who care deeply about the children at St John the Baptist and often ‘go the extra mile.’ We work together as a team to provide a creative curriculum to promote high academic standards which will enable children to succeed at secondary school and beyond.

Our aim is support all children to be:

  • Articulate, independent and self-motivated
  • Resilient with a positive self-image
  • Able to think and communicate with clarity and precision
  • Independent thinkers
  • Responsible risk takers
  • Creative, imaginative and innovative
  • Able to weigh moral values with an informed conscience illuminated by faith
  • Prepared to make a significant contribution to the global community

Children are at the heart of everything we do. We nurture them to become the very best that they can be, laying the groundwork for them to become the leaders of tomorrow by promoting educational excellence, character development and service to communities. We supplement their natural curiosity with engaging and enjoyable learning experiences.

With a creative, passionate student body, an outstanding curriculum focussing on identity and aspiration, rated outstanding by Ofsted, high levels of attainment (top 89 schools of the country) and a culture that encourages and supports all students to strive for academic achievement, we have proven that an education at St John the Baptist Primary is a valuable investment in your child’s future.

I hope that this site will give you a flavour of our school. However, I will not be able to do justice to everything and I warmly invite you to come and see for yourself. The children of St John the Baptist very much enjoy meeting visitors and sharing their achievements.
