Admission arrangements for a school place at SJB.

COVID-19 – School Update

Currently, St John the Baptist Primary School is open to Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 and vulnerable and key worker children. If your child is attending school, please read the Home School Agreement.

Admissions

St John the Baptist is governed by Hackney’s admission procedures.  A copy of the admission form for Reception is available on the Hackney Learning Trust website.

Please click on the links below for copies of our admission policies:

St John the Baptist Application for Church Place Form (Supplementary Form)

The Hackney Learning Trust are responsible for setting the admission arrangements for all schools for which they are the Admission Authority – that is, community and voluntary controlled schools in the borough.

For voluntary-aided schools, academies, foundation schools or free schools each school governing body or Academy Trust is their own admission authority.

Applying for a reception class

If your child was born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016, they are due to start primary school in September 2020.

The closing date for applying for your child’s primary school place is 15 January 2020. The outcome date will be 16th April 2020.

You can apply for your child’s school place online.

For further information, please click here.

Admissions for Years 1-6

From time to time, we also have vacancies in other year groups. To apply for a place for one of our Years 1 to 6 classes, parents need to go to the Hackney Learning Trust to fill out a mid-term transfer form. We encourage visits to the school for prospective families. If you would like to arrange a visit to see the school, please call the school office on 0207 739 4902.

Admission Arrangements

Please find below our admissions policy for 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 and our Home School Agreement. There is also information from the Hackney Learning Trust under In-Year applications.
