Measuring with ribbon in Maple class

Maple have been using ribbon to explore how shapes without straight edges can be measured and their perimeter calculated.  Allowing the children to manipulate the string around the edge of a shape gives them a good grounding for moving into abstract calculations of area and perimeter in due course.
