Dear SJB Families,
As our school grounds become greener and brighter each day, it has been wonderful to see the children’s curiosity and enthusiasm shining just as brightly in their learning this week.
Today is the 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough, whose work has inspired generations to care for and protect our natural world. During assemblies this week, the children learnt about his achievements, his dedication to wildlife conservation, and the incredible impact he has had on helping people understand the importance of our planet.
Next week, our Year 6 children will take their SATs tests. If you are reading this as a Year 6 parent or guardian (or perhaps as a future Year 6 family) please know how incredibly proud we are of every single child. The hard work, determination and progress they have shown this year has been wonderful to see. We look forward to our special breakfasts with the Year 6 children this week.
While SATs are an important part of school life, they are only a moment in time. They do not reflect the many academic, sporting, creative and artistic talents our children possess, and they certainly cannot measure their character, resilience or kindness – qualities which matter far more and which we value deeply as a school community.
We wish all of our Year 6 pupils a calm and confident week ahead, and we know they will all do their very best.
