Dear Families, I would like to thank all of our children for the incredible efforts they have put into their learning this year. They have all had an amazing year and made some excellent progress. I would like to thank all of our parents and carers for your continued support throughout the past year. I wish you all a happy, healthy and safe summer holiday and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to school in September 2024. We also look forward to welcoming you to the summer fayre on Monday 22nd July 2024 from 3:45pm. You will be able to buy your tokens on the day or via Parent Pay. They will be ready for you to collect on Monday at the Fayre. The last day of school is Wednesday 24th July 2024 at 1:30pm. There are no after school clubs next week, but After School Care continues on Monday and Tuesday evenings. There is no After School Care on Wednesday. Breakfast club continues until the end of term. Children in Years 1-6 will start school at 8:45am on Wednesday 4th September 2024. We look forward to welcoming you all back in the Autumn Term. Children in Nursery and Reception will have had their starting dates sent to them separately. We wish all our Year 6’s moving on to secondary all the luck and best. We have great prizes up for grabs such as hampers, a skateboard, an air fryer, 2 £30 gift cards, a £30 Waterstones voucher, Yummy order of Cupcakes and biscuits and many more fantastic prizes! We will be drawing the raffle at our summer Fayre on 22nd July. The Council’s Young Hackney Summer Activities Guide is now out as part of Love Hackney’s July 2024 issue. The Summer Guide is packed with free activities for children and young people to get involved in throughout July and August. The guide is specifically for young people in Hackney aged up to 19 years old. https://www.younghackney.org/summer-activities-guide/ The Badu Camp Team are now taking bookings for the summer camp 2024. The Summer Multi Sports Camp & Football Camp are taking place at: Address:- City Academy, Homerton Row, London E9 6EA Monday 29th July – Friday 23rd August 2024 Please spread the word to friends and neighbours if they have children who are 2 and 3 years-old – applications are now being considered. Apply quickly for 2 year-old and 3 year-old Nursery places if your (or their) child was born between Sept 1st 2020 and 31st Aug 2022. All applications are now easier as they are online and with the new funding outlined by the government more parents can access FREE 2 year old and 3 year old Nursery places. Well done to our fantastic Year 5’s who took part in sports day this week! Thank you to all the parents who came to spectate.... Our Year 6’s celebrated the end of a fantastic year with a special leavers lunch this week... This Wednesday, year 6 had their final service over at St John’s. They shared memories and songs from their time at SJB and were awarded Bibles and tokens as keep-sakes.... This week, Hazel class learned about budgeting. We were each given a fictional budget and then had to choose how to spend it, considering both needs (rent, groceries etc) and needs. We then presented our choices to the rest of the class.... Holly Class enjoyed celebrating Cultural Diversity day. We dressed up in our culture then shared with the rest of the class what our culture was and googled each others country on the map and the flag.... Year 4 went on a fascinating walk around The City on Tuesday learning about the ignominious history of one of the biggest companies in the history of the world, The East India Company. This also coincided with Cultural Appreciation Day so it was a...... In Rowan class, the children have been writing exciting stories about a Bengal tiger running wild through SJB.
