Dear Families,
As we come to the end of a fantastic first half of the Summer Term 2026, I would like to congratulate all of our children, staff and families for another wonderful half term at SJB.
It has been a term filled with achievement, progress and memorable experiences. Our children continue to impress us every day with their enthusiasm, kindness and determination, and we are so proud of all they have accomplished both inside and outside the classroom.
It has also been exciting to see the continued developments around the school, including our growing space and improvements to the library, which are already helping to create even more inspiring opportunities for learning, reading and outdoor exploration for all children.
This week’s Sports Days were a fantastic celebration of teamwork, sportsmanship and participation. It was wonderful to see children encouraging one another, trying their very best and showing such positivity and resilience throughout the events. A huge thank you to all staff, families and members of the School Council who helped make the days such a success and such a joyful celebration of our school community.
Thank you once again for your continued support of our school community. Together, we continue to make SJB a very special place for children to learn and grow.
We wish all of our families a safe, restful and joyful half term break and look forward to welcoming all children back to school bright and early on Monday 1st June at 8:45am.
With best wishes,
Ms Toni Mason
Our Reading Forest has become one of the most exciting new additions to life at SJB this term. Created in partnership with Bow Arts, this beautiful library space has been carefully designed to inspire a lifelong love of reading while nurturing children’s creativity, confidence and imagination.
Designed as a calm and immersive reading experience, the Reading Forest invites children to explore a wide range of engaging books in a cosy and welcoming environment. Complete with a stunning handcrafted wooden tree bench and hanging leaves created with the support of Bow Arts, the space offers children a magical place to sit, relax and lose themselves in stories.
At SJB, we believe reading for pleasure is at the heart of children’s success. Through opportunities to browse exciting texts, discover new authors, share recommendations with friends and discuss books together, our children are developing not only strong reading skills, but also confidence in speaking, writing and expressing their ideas.
It has been wonderful to see our children already flourishing in the Reading Forest. They are enthusiastically sharing book reviews, recommending favourite stories and growing in confidence as readers every day. The space has quickly become a much loved part of our school community and perfectly reflects our commitment to creating inspiring environments where children can thrive academically, socially and creatively.
We look forward to many more memorable reading moments in our Reading Forest as it continues to grow and develop alongside our children.
