Dear St John the Baptist Families,
Have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes, Toni Mason
Year 4 set off for their second adventure to Ufton Court in Reading this week. They have been learning outdoors; working collaboratively; sharing the meal prep; star gazing; night-time walking and riding bikes (to name just a few!). The children have an amazing time enjoying these opportunities out of the city in a safe and exciting space. The children will re-visit for the third time in February. We have seen the impact these outdoor learning experiences have on our children – increased concentration, better resilience and strong friendships. We are very lucky to have the support of Ufton Court
In preparation for our Christmas Fayre next Friday, 1st December, children can come to school dressed in their own clothes.
Please make sure clothes are appropriate for weather and lessons (I.e. warm enough for the cold weather and if it is a PE day appropriate for the lesson)
In return we are asking for children to donate a prize that we can use in the tombola and the ‘Wheel of Fortune’.
Prize ideas – soaps, candles, games, toys, bottles (soap/fizzsy drink/juice etc.)
All donations would will be appreciated!
Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th December 2023 are Children’s Progress Meetings from 3.40pm. This is a great opportunity for you to meet your child’s class teacher, hear and see what your child has been learning in class and discuss your child’s next steps. You will need to book a time slot to meet your child’s teacher. Booking information is now available at the end of the day with class teachers or via phone after 11am at the school office. We look forward to seeing you there.
Hello! My name is Dr King-Chi Yau (please call me “Chi” ) and I work for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) as a Clinical Psychologist. I am really pleased to be working once a week (on Tuesdays) in your school!
My role is to support the school with their wellbeing plan across the year. There are a few ways I do this, for example:
Please come and say hello if you see me at the school gate! If you have any ideas or thoughts about what you may find helpful from me at our coffee mornings/afternoons, I would be really keen to hear from you. You can reach me through Ms Brockway.
We are thrilled to say we are selling tickets now!
They are £1 a strip (5 tickets).
Your child will have brought home some for you to buy, please do ask for more if needed at the office.
We are also selling them at the office so do pop in.
We now operate an a nearly new uniform shop. Please visit the school office and have a look at the many items we have available.
Can you please help us?
To make this a success we will be dependent on the generosity of parents and carers donating their children’s uniforms when they have finished with them. All funds raised go straight to our various fundraising projects and therefore benefit all the children in the school. Donations of uniform and PE kit can be left at Reception, in school hours, all year round.
Thank you for supporting the school.
