Dear Families,
It has been another exciting week at St John the Baptist! A special highlight has been our Year 4 pupils completing their final residential trip to Ufton Court. The feedback from staff has been fantastic—our students have grown in confidence and self-belief while having an amazing time. I’m sure they’ll sleep well this weekend!
This week, we also celebrated Science Week through a special assembly and daily highlights of famous scientists, explored through our Rise Up curriculum. While we’ve marked the occasion, we plan to give it the full attention it deserves with a larger celebration in the Summer term.
Looking ahead, next week is Parents/Carers’ Evening. We have made some changes to the format to better accommodate families needing later appointments due to work commitments. As a result, we will be holding Parents’ Evening on Wednesday until 7pm. Please ensure you have signed up using our online booking form. (The link was emailed to you on Wednesday)
Next Friday is Red Nose Day, items are now available from the office and our Friends of St John the Baptist group will be selling a variety of items in the playground. Your support for this important cause is greatly appreciated. Please see below for more information!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
Ms Toni Mason

The Importance of Family-Teacher Partnerships
Next week, we welcome families to our Parents and Carers’ Evening, an important opportunity to strengthen the partnership between home and school. This year, we have one day for all our meetings but have extended the time until 7pm to better accommodate families with work commitments.
The evening is a chance to celebrate student progress, discuss areas for development, and work together to ensure the best possible support for every child. We encourage all families to sign up using our online booking system to make the most of this valuable opportunity.

Thank you for your continued support—we look forward to seeing you there!
A Little reminder… Next Friday…

Celebrate Comic Relief at School – Friday 21st March!
Get ready for a fun-filled day as we celebrate Comic Relief on Friday 21st March! Children can wear a red nose, a red top (jumper, T-shirt etc. (PE tops count!)) and get creative with red hair accessories. To help raise money for this fantastic cause, we will be selling red noses and accessories in the playground on Tuesday 18th and Thursday 20th March—please bring cash. All money raised will go towards supporting people living in poverty, both in the UK and around the world.
At SJB we are also budding comedians happy to provide comic relief – so we are running a competition for the funniest joke with guest judges. Children will bring home a joke entry form to complete and return by Thursday morning. Juudging is happening on Thursday. We will publish some of the best here next week.
