To all our Families at St John the Baptist,
What a wonderful week it has been here in school. The Christmas spirit has certainly filled our halls, and I could not be more proud of the children.
Our nativities have been a true joy. On Monday, we began with Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and year 2 children, who treated us to some delightful acting and fine singing. Their confidence and enthusiasm shone through beautifully. On Wednesday, our Year 3 and 4 children took to the stage with impressive storytelling skills, raising the roof with their glorious voices. And today, we were treated to the final performance of the week by our Year 5 and 6 children. Their harmonies, beautiful voices, and poised retelling of the joyous birth of Jesus were simply wonderful to witness. Each performance has been a reminder of the talent, teamwork and heart our children bring to everything they do.
Yesterday’s Christmas Dinner was another highlight of the week. There was such fun and festive spirit as we all shared a meal together – crackers popping, laughter around the tables, and plates filled with the loveliest roast dinner. It was lovely to also raise money for Save the Children by wearing our festive jumpers, adding an extra layer of colour and joy to the day. The children created their own festive hats to wear to dinner, which made the hall look even more magical. Photos below!
Thank you for your continued support during this busy and magical time of year.
Warmest wishes,
Ms Toni Mason
Tuesday 16th December: Christmas fayre
Friday 19th December: Last Day of term (Gates Open at 13:30)
We are all so proud of the children for their wonderful performances in the nativities. They showed great confidence, enthusiasm and teamwork, and it was a joy to see them shine on stage. A massive thank you to all the staff and pupils who worked so hard to put them together. Please enjoy looking through just a few photos that capture some of the highlights from these special performances.

On Thursday 11th December, everyone at our school got into the festive spirit by wearing our bright and silly Christmas jumpers! It was a fun and joyful way to celebrate the season – and all for a great cause.
We joined Christmas Jumper Day to help raise money for Save the Children, a charity that supports children around the world with healthcare, education, and protection. Even our smallest donations can make a big difference in a child’s life.
The school was full of laughter, colourful jumpers, and holiday cheer. Pupils and staff alike enjoyed showing off their festive outfits while knowing they were helping children in need.
A big thank you to everyone who took part and donated. Together, we made a wonderful contribution to Save the Children and spread some Christmas joy throughout our school!
