Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to a new school year! We are so happy to see everyone again, and a special welcome to all our new families joining our school.
The children have made a fantastic start – full of smiles, energy, and enthusiasm for learning. Our classrooms are already busy with exciting activities, and it is wonderful to see friendships old and new growing each day.
We are looking forward to a year filled with learning, kindness, and fun. Thank you for your support in helping us get off to such a positive start.
Warm wishes,
Ms Toni Mason
We are really excited to introduce this year’s Badu PE coach, Kai. This week, Kai visited classes from Year 1 to Year 6 to get to know the children. He has already shared how much he loves the school and how impressed he was with the behaviour and positive attitude of our students. He is eager to begin teaching the PE curriculum next week.
PE Days
Below are the PE days for each class. On their PE day, children should come to school wearing their PE kit so that no lesson time is lost getting changed. Please see poster below for PE uniform. Classes will have either one two-hour swimming lesson or two one hour lessons.
Swimming
Swimming is an essential life skill and a compulsory part of the National Curriculum. It not only supports children’s health and safety but also builds their confidence in the water. Most vitally, it may also be a future life-saving skill. Over the course of the year, all year groups from Reception to Year 6 will have swimming lessons as part of their curriculum entitlement. Pupils will need to bring a swimming costume, swimming hat and towel with them to school on these allocated days. This half term it is Year 6 but please see the poster below for information about when it is your child’s turn.
In light of the ongoing heavy rain, we would like to update you on our wet weather pick-up locations:
Where possible, we will inform parents of wet weather pick-up arrangements via a Marvellous Me message before 3:25pm. If it begins to rain suddenly at home time, staff will direct you to the correct location.
Thank you for your support and cooperation.
At school, we encourage children to drink water regularly as it is important for both their body and mind. Staying hydrated helps children concentrate, supports their memory, keeps energy levels steady, and is also essential for overall health and wellbeing.
If you would prefer, your child is welcome to bring in their own water bottle to use during the day. If your child does not have one, please don’t worry. We can provide a school water bottle, which will be filled daily and sterilised regularly.
If you would like your child to have a school bottle, please let a member of staff in your child’s class know, or encourage your child to do so.
Here are the dates again for this school year.
We do not authorise holidays in term time under any circumstances. Parents and Carers, please ensure that you do not book holidays or flights for before term ends or for after term has begun. {lease use these dates if you want to book ahead.
Every day in school matters. All requests for leave during term time are monitored by the Headteacher who may wish to meet with you to discuss your request further.
