A message from our CAMHS worker in school

Hello! My name is Dr King-Chi Yau (please call me “Chi” ) and I work for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) as a Clinical Psychologist. I am really pleased to be working once a week (on Tuesdays) in your school!

 My role is to support the school with their wellbeing plan across the year. There are a few ways I do this, for example:

• Supporting the student-led wellbeing ambassadors to improve mental health and wellbeing support within the school.
• Staff training around supporting children’s mental health.
• Consultation to school staff to support further understanding of need in students.
• Attend regular planning meetings in the school to enable holistic thinking around student need.
• Support liaison with external services, so the school feels confident in referring students to other services if needed and agreed with the parent/carer.
• Running parent coffee mornings/afternoons around emotional wellbeing.
