This year, we have been working closely with Hackney Citizens which is part of Citizens UK. Hackney Citizens is an alliance of civil society organisations who work together to bring about change in our community for the common good. In Hoxton, St John the Baptist Primary School have been working with six other organisations to build local campaigns to improve Hoxton for everybody. Our School Council have been trained in leadership and also have built their own local campaigns.

Our digital leaders are a fantastic asset to the school community. A Digital Leader is a pupil who is part of a Digital Leaders Team within a school. Their role is to support the use and further the development of ICT in schools. With technology advancing at such a fast rate, it is hard to keep up with change. However, schools can make use of digital leaders as a suitable resource for maintaining standards and making progress in ICT.

The RRS steering group is a dedicated team of pupils, teachers, TAs, governors and parents. We aim to promote an understanding of the UNCRC rights of the child within the SJB community. The group as a whole aims to promote a mutual respect between children and adults as well as develop an increased awareness of global issues. The steering group children (children from y3-y6) meet fortnightly to discuss how to promote the rights in school.

We are the Values Leaders! We are a group of children from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 with a special task; our aim is to work together to promote our school values. As a team we have many duties, and share lots of ideas on how to make the school day, including collective worship to be the best it can be at St John the Baptist.

Eco Warriors focus on reducing the school's and its communities environmental impact

Prefects are children who consistently show the best of the SJB 5 Beliefs. Prefects must lead by example at all times in their behaviour, the respect they show to others and their school uniform. They take on many roles and have many responsibilities and wear their prefect badges with pride.
