Dear Families, We had such a wonderful World Book Day yesterday. We were so happy to see so many parents and carers join us to read with their children. I know the children loved being able to share books with you too. Thank you for coming. Please see the fantastic photos below. We have a busy week next week too with lots of opportunities for our school community to come together. Please don’t forget to register your attendance at our Outstanding Celebration on Friday 15th March. Please see the information below. We are also welcoming Sav Akyus – author and illustrator – to come and visit our children in Y1-4 on Friday. If you would like to order a signed copy of his book, please see the email sent out earlier this week for the link. We are looking forward to seeing the children in their red clothes for Red Nose Day. We look forward to celebrating all these fantastic events. Have a wonderful weekend. Best wishes, Toni Mason To celebrate our fantastic Outstanding Ofsted result, we would like to invite all parents and carers to join us for a special Afternoon Tea with their child’s class on Friday 15th March at 2:30pm. Come and enjoy an afternoon snack, some singing and the chance to celebrate all the wonderful achievements of our fantastic school community. To let us know if you are able to attend, please complete this short google form. As our OPAL journey continues, we are reaching out to our amazing community. Do you have any used (but clean) kitchen ware that’s past its best? Old saucepans or spatulas; frying pans or rolling pins. We are looking to include these items in our plans for a mud kitchen. If you are able to support our play in this way, please get in touch via the office email: office@st-john.hackney.sch.uk or simply drop off your donations at the school office. Please also don’t forget to complete our parent survey – the more information we have, the better our play times can be! Thank you in advance. Our school council is organising the celebrations and fundraising for the Red Nose Day 2024. This year it is on Friday the 15th March 2024. We are inviting children to wear red, wear a red nose and donate to Comic Relief Red Nose Day. Red noses will be available next week from the school office (we will send a Marvellous Me when they arrive) We will also have red ribbons and headbands available to purchase. Your child is eligible to start in the term following their 2nd or 3rd birthday. In some circumstances they may be able to start on their birthday so please enquire so we can help you with the options! You may be eligible for help with additional hours and fees. Please see the office for more infomation!
