Dear St John the Baptist Families, What a lovely busy joyful night was had on Tuesday evening. Thank you to everyone who supported our super Christmas Fayre. Your time, attendance and support for the school are greatly appreciated by staff and governors. Many thanks for the fabulous donations from so many families and staff and to two of our parents, Tara and Charlotte, who helped before, during and after the Christmas Fayre. The children had such fun and are still talking about their activities, their prizes and the fun they had. Together we ensured a successful night was had by all. Every year when we get the chance to see our children in the Nativity plays it makes us all feel really Christmassy! This week we have been able to watch year 5 & 6 on Thursday and this afternoon we saw years 2, 3 and 4. What an amazing display of talent with so many children performing and telling the story of Christmas with confidence. They had been rehearsing this term as well as doing all the work in their classes that they would do normally, so they’ve been very busy. This year, there were more speaking roles than there have been before too, so there was a lot to learn, but they did an absolutely fantastic job. Well done to all of the children. They now hand over to the Early years and Year 1 who have equally been working hard to bring us their very own production, which will be on Monday. We can’t wait! Have a lovely weekend. Best wishes, Toni Mason St John’s Hoxton Church Sunday 17th December 4:00pm Our school choir will singing as part of the St John’s Hoxton annual Carols by Candlelight service. There will be tea and coffee available after the service for parents and carers. We are raising money for the worthwile chariuty Children in Need by wearing Christmas jumpers next Tuesday. We are wearing these to our very special Christmas Lunch. Watch this space for photos of the festive event next week. Buckets will be on the gates and we are asking for a gold coin donation (£1) Please click here for more information on this appeal. Childrten in Need are working to support many emergencies including getting urgent food, water and essential items to children and families in Gaza and Israel. Children in Gaza are living through a nightmare – one that gets more distressing by the hour. Children in Gaza and Israel have been killed, maimed, abducted and subjected to unspeakable violence. Hospitals and schools sheltering civilians have been destroyed. The children caught up in this terrible conflict – who had nothing to do with causing it –urgently need your help. So we are supporting the Children in Need Christmas Jumper Day to help these children and families. Please join us when we open the gates at 1:45pm for a few carols in the playground. All children (including Nursery, 2 year olds, Reception and Year 1 classes will be in the playground as well. We now operate an a nearly new uniform shop. Please visit the school office and have a look at the many items we have available. Can you please help us? To make this a success we will be dependent on the generosity of parents and carers donating their children’s uniforms when they have finished with them. All funds raised go straight to our various fundraising projects and therefore benefit all the children in the school. Donations of uniform and PE kit can be left at Reception, in school hours, all year round. Thank you for supporting the school.
