Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been another wonderful week in school, and I’ve been so impressed by how hard all the children have been working. I’ve heard lots about the progress they are making in lessons, and it’s fantastic to see their enthusiasm and effort shining through in every classroom.
Today, many classes auditioned for their Black History Month celebration performances in preparation for next Friday. I can’t wait for the final performances next week.
We are also excited to welcome one of our parents – Angenita Blackwood, in to share the work she has done to create a resource to help children learn all the countries in Africa. We will be watching the mini film on Thursday in assembly.
A huge thank you to all the families who donated items for our Harvest Festival. Your generosity means that we can support local families who need a little extra help at this time of year.
Have a lovely weekend, everyone!
Ms Toni Mason

We know it can sometimes be difficult to decide whether your child is well enough to come to school. The NHS provides clear guidance to help parents make this decision. Most mild illnesses- such as a runny nose, sore throat, or slight cough – do not usually require time off school, unless your child has a temperature or has been advised to rest by a doctor.
You know your child best, but we’re here to support all families to have the right information so that pupils can attend school whenever they’re able to.
Please try to book any medical appointments outside of school hours where possible. If an appointment must take place during the school day, please bring your child to school beforehand and return afterwards if they are well enough. Pupils can attend appointments in their school uniform.

Thank you for helping us to keep attendance strong and learning consistent for all children.

We are excited to announce that we will be having our next Family movie night on the 24th October at 4 pm at St John’s Hoxton. Doors open at 3:30pm. This is a great opportunity to bring along friends from school or family members to come together and enjoy a chilled and incredible movie event. Due to limited spaces, please make sure you and your guests sign up for the event.

In Y6 we are learning higher numbers and children learnt them by themselves using their previous knowledge. Next week we will use those numbers to count money in Spanish....
Year 5 have been continuing their study of forces by looking at water resistance. We did a fair test to make predictions and measure how different shapes of Play-Doh fell through water....
